Sherwin-Williams Company engages in the development, manufacture, distribution, and sale of paints, coatings, and related products. The UX Designer will play a significant role in designing and enhancing software applications and digital products, working closely with users and stakeholders to develop solutions that provide seamless and engaging user experiences.
Support team in user research and gather insights related to specific user needs, preferences, and pain points for applicable systems and technology
Conduct discovery research to understand user needs and support the generation of deliverables like personas and journey maps to assist the design process
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to design and improve software applications and websites
Review and update acceptance criteria for UX/UI designs based on stakeholder needs and system capabilities
Create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts
Synthesize insights on design specifications and articulate tradeoffs and considerations associated with design concepts
Support user testing and usability studies to validate design decisions
Research and propose approaches to design patterns, style guides, and design systems to create consistency across products and services
Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure optimal user experience
Coordinate and attend workshops with stakeholders and end users to collaboratively document user information and co-create potential future visions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in design, business, computer science, psychology, anthropology, or human-computer interaction or at least 3 years of experience in designing digital user interfaces and user experiences
2-4 years of experience designing digital user interfaces and user experiences
Ability to create designs and interactive prototypes using tools (i.e., Figma, XD, Sketch)
A portfolio of previous UX/UI design work
Strong communication skills to effectively convey and receive feedback from cross-functional stakeholders
Good attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality design work
Ability to balance creativity with practicality, and to execute plans efficiently
Familiarity with CMS platforms and web technologies (i.e., JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery) is a plus
Preferred
Understanding of responsive web design concepts and mobile applications.
Hands-on experience working with customers to build and formulate business requirements.
Proven ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Familiarity with both Agile and waterfall development approaches and the ability to work flexibly with cross-functional teams.
Experience conducting user research activities, including up-front contextual inquiries or ethnographic research, interviews, and usability testing.
