Garmin manufactures marine, aviation, and consumer technologies suitable to run on positioning systems. They are seeking a full-time UI Designer 1 to create and produce basic icons, interface designs, and other graphical needs primarily supporting Garmin market segments.
Creates basic images such as icons, fonts, graphical themes, and other digital artwork for Garmin deliverables using programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint, and other programs in Adobe’s Creative Suite
Learns and applies basic imaging standards, guidelines, and processes in the planning and execution of basic imaging projects
Catalogs icons, fonts, and other graphics for future use and continuity of design
Works closely with others to create concept presentations and graphics for deliverables
Ensures continuity of corporate/department image in graphics
Proactively seeks, applies, shares, and retains detailed information
Learns and applies appropriate requirements, standards, processes, procedures, tools, and technologies in addition to thoroughly documenting work in an organized manner
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication OR Associate's Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications AND a minimum of 2 years as a Garmin Production Artist OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
Demonstrates a proficient understanding of imaging formats, quality factors, and output-related information fundamental design skills (Composition, information architecture, color theory, typography and animation)
Understanding of designing for interactive/on-screen product interface
Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be flexible and able to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment
Must demonstrate strong organization skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Basic knowledge of required programs: primarily Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma
Preferred
Experience in Visual Communications or Graphic Design
