The Revenue Accountant I role involves honing accounting skills while contributing to the Revenue and Accounting team, focusing on revenue month-end close processes, contract review, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge and experience in the application of ASC 606
Ability to review complex contracts and understand billing requirements
Ability to multitask, prioritize and reprioritize to meet tight deadlines
Gatekeeper of own tasks and timely escalation
Ability to work independently and understand the importance of working with a team
Ability to collaborate with Sales/FP&A and various cross-functional teams to resolve billing and revenue issues
Participate in External and Internal audits
Perform ad-hoc projects as required
Review revenue and forecast variances and provide explanations for discrepancies
Own revenue month-end close process for assigned products. Comfortable with the preparation of journal entries and the reconciliation of revenue, unbilled and deferred revenue, and accounts receivable
Flexible open mindset with the ability to adapt to changing procedures and follow them

Required

BA/BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in accounting or relevant field of study
Strong knowledge and experience in invoicing, billing, and/or accounts receivable functions
Strong proficiency in MS Excel, ability to analyze large sets of data (Pivots, VLOOKUP, Advanced formulas)
Ability to effectively interact with internal employees and clients holding a wide range of positions e.g. clerks to middle/upper management
Strong sense of ownership, excellent analytic, problem solving, and investigative skills
Experience working with Oracle or other large-scale enterprise resource planning systems
Intermediate experience within a corporate accounting environment, preferably in the software or manufacturing industry
