IXL Learning is the country's largest EdTech company, and they are seeking a Language Arts Curriculum Designer with an assessment focus to help shape their growing suite of K-12 assessments. The role involves designing engaging assessment items, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of educational content.
Write and review clear, engaging assessment items to address specified educational objectives in grades K-12
Review and edit assessment items and collaborate with our team of writers, editors, and illustrators to ensure content is clear, accurate, and age-appropriate
Write achievement level descriptors and other assessment documentation
Collaborate with curriculum designers, psychometricians, program managers, and company leaders to determine assessment scope and approach
Develop and manage project plans to create and deliver high-quality assessment items
Research and analyze content requirements, including state educational standards
Assist with other ELA curriculum design projects as assigned, such as creating and reviewing standards alignments and writing and reviewing ELA content for IXL's learning activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field
2+ years' experience writing items for statewide or national assessments
K-12 ELA teaching or tutoring experience
Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groups
Ability to think strategically and creatively solve problems
Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail
Ability to quickly learn new guidelines and software
Preferred
Familiarity with HTML, Jira, or version control software
Experience in curriculum development and instructional design
