Brown & Brown Insurance delivers risk management solutions to help protect and preserve what our customers value most. The Catastrophe Modeling Analyst will support clients and conduct research in CAT modeling and Insurtech while contributing to analytics projects.
Perform data management and risk modeling tasks in an efficient and error-free manner
Provide suggestions related to the improvement of property exposure data cleansing, process automation, warehousing, organization, querying, and reporting
Participate in working relationships with our third-party analytics vendors (modeling firms, software providers, etc.)
Research and evaluate scientific assumptions related to the various modules with catastrophe models and effectively communicate findings and output sensitivities to key internal and external stakeholders.
Assist our management team in the design and development of proprietary IT systems to improve the quality, and streamline the delivery, of analytical content provided to our brokerage teams.
Develop and deliver clearly formulated communications explaining key findings from the review of risk model outputs in a financial setting.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, Meteorology or other natural sciences
0 - 2 years of working experience in a related field
Highly proficient in MS Office with exceptionally strong Excel skills
Must have strong analytic and quantitative reasoning abilities and enjoy problem-solving
Must be self-motivated and looking to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial environment
Preferred
VBA skills a strong plus
Experience programming in SAS and SQL is a strong plus
Knowledge of GIS software packages is a plus
