Lilly is a global healthcare leader dedicated to making life better for people around the world. We are seeking a Firewall Engineer to design, deploy, and manage Next-Gen Firewall solutions, ensuring compliance and driving major security initiatives as the company expands.
Partner with MNS provider to troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related incidents, performance issues, and security events
Drive execution of major projects that both support & secure the business
Influence firewall design/architecture by working with the EC Network Security architect, Cybersecurity organization, and MNS provider
Provide firewall consultation for business partner use cases being driven out of business units such as M&Q and LRL
Qualification
Required
Experience in firewall engineering, network security, or cybersecurity operations
Strong understanding of network fundamentals
Hands-on experience with NGFW platforms, especially Palo Alto
Strong understanding of network security principles, including segmentation, VPNs, NAT, IDS/IPS, and threat mitigation
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills (both verbal and written) including ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical personnel
Understanding of API scripting for network automation use cases
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or other related field
2+ years of experience with Palo Alto or similar Next-Gen Firewall (NGFW) platforms
2+ years of large enterprise experience doing network design, implementation, and support with an emphasis on network security
Preferred
Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) and log analysis is a plus
Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CCNP Security, CISSP) are preferred, but not required
